{waving} Hi Peeps!
Sorry I haven't updated...like really, really updated...in...um....forever!
I have been commenting on other people's blogs.
I have been reading other people's blogs.
I have been keeping up on the news (sort of).
I have been checking my email.
But I haven't been blogging. And it's not like I don't have anything to say. I've really been wanting to tell you about how the Lord has really been working in my life. And I'm learning so much. And I am so grateful. But somehow I feel like if I put it into a post...into words...,the sweetness of the struggle and ensuring victory will evaporate. Ever been there?
So I guess I'll just give an update about my life. I'm still blessed beyond measure. This week was comfortably busy. A few mornings off which was awesome. I am still nannying for a family in the afternoons.
Tomorrow is our church's 39th anniversary. So...I have to make two pans of a "twice-baked potato" recipe. And two dozen cookies to make...but they're pre-made. I just have to pop them in the oven. Ahhhhh......lucky me!
And I've really been loving my cello lately. I have literally been soaking my lessons in and I'm loving it!
My brother leaves for Africa (!!) in a little over a week (!!) for a month (!!). Yay for him (and for Rachel - who is leaving for Botswana). I just can't believe it's already time for him to leave. Wow!
I am (kind of) planning a trip to see my grandparents in October. There are still a few huge maybe's and if's attached. It would be fun but I'm not holding my breath. It's in the back of my mind like, "That would be so nice and so fun to do in October." Well, seeing that October is days away the maybe's and if's will have to fall into place very, very soon.
That's my life.

Constitution Day
Today is Constitution Day!
I admit that I have not been a big fan or follower of the Constitution. I'm not saying that I thought that we should disregard it....NOT SAYING THAT AT ALL!!! I just didn't really pay attention to it. I knew it was important but had the idea that it was basically for other people to figure out and understand. I took a Government class in college and one semester was devoted to...gasp!....the Constitution. My attitude was...Come on already, we know it's important but let's talk about more interesting stuff like the judicial system, etc.
Little did I know how my attitude would change. No, I have not read the Constitution through myself (I should put that as a fall goal) but I try to be much more in-tune with it considering our current President. I've even heard of a "Constitution Party." If it's not in the Constitution, I don't want our government doing it!!
Here's an interesting link.

summer goals update
I googled the answer to my perplexing question: when does fall start? And was told that it begins on September 22nd.
So I guess I have 7 days (one week!) to finish my summer goals.
Here's a re-cap.
*organize idea notebook*I have worked on it but it's not finished*
*finish reading the Bible through*working on it*
*conquer vibrato on cello*working on it...will ask my cello teacher tomorrow night how I'm doing in regards to that*
*go to Cedar Point/Great America*I knew this wouldn't happen but I had to put it as a goal because I want to go every summer*
*lots of new songs and games for bus*kinda-sorta accomplished...I want to do a flip-chart of (what I call) Bible songs...verses in the Bible sung to a tune...what a wonderful way to hide God's Word in our hearts!*

9/11
I've had a real hard time today listening to the news reports and reminders that it has been eight years since 9/11.
I think part of the problem that I'm feeling this way is because of our President. He makes me so mad.
I'm sorry if you don't like to read political rants and I don't do them very often but he really ticks me off.
I guess the past eight years, we've had an awesome President and I felt safe....contrary to how I feel now!

...right now....
...it is 10:40 PM.
...it is the top of the TWELFTH INNING (Sox vs. A's).
...the kitchen table looks like this
...and I look (and feel) like this
Explanation of the kitchen table: I'm organizing kindergarten papers of a little boy for one of the families that I work for because they are moving. Isn't it a little l-a-t-e?? But I did volunteer!
